As part of his scientific visits and field trips, the President of the University of Technology, Professor Mohsen Nouri Hamza, inspected the sustainable chemical warehouse at the College of Chemical Engineering on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. The visit included an overview of the chemical warehouse’s storage system and the rehabilitation of the warehouse through the volunteer efforts of the Chemical Warehouse staff and the College’s Maintenance Department staff, who contributed exceptionally to the complete development of the warehouse. The President also reviewed the progress made in the application of chemical storage mechanisms through the construction of a sensor system to control contamination in chemical warehouses. This system was implemented by Asst. Lec. Samah Faris Kamel from the College of Chemical Engineering in joint research collaboration with the College of Engineering at the University of Iraq. This project aims to achieve sustainability requirements and preserve the environment in chemical warehouses and laboratories. The visit included the attendance of the University President’s Assistants for Academic and Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan and Prof. Dr. Farhad Mohammed Othman, who were received by the Dean of the College of Chemical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, the Dean’s Academic and Administrative Assistants, and a number of department heads and lecturers.
